About the Artist

I’m Rylee — a lifelong daydreamer, quiet maker, and the hands behind Daughter of Crow. I’ve always been drawn to the old ways: stories passed down like heirlooms, the hush of pine woods, the scent of lavender on warm fabric. This little folk art world I’ve built is my way of honoring that—bringing bits of the forgotten into the present with needle, cloth, and quiet intention.

I create rag dolls that carry their own stories. Each one begins with a spark — a season, a plant, a bit of folklore — and grows into a character as I sew. I work slowly, using natural and repurposed materials: cotton muslin bodies, wool hair, hand-carved stamps, and crocheted details. I stuff them with polyester for softness, but always tuck in French lavender so they feel—and smell—like something precious. Something found in an attic trunk or given by a grandmother who knew the old tales.

This work isn’t just craft for me — it’s personal. It’s rooted in grief, in wonder, in a deep longing to create beauty that feels meaningful. Daughter of Crow is a name that holds my own story, and every doll I make carries a little piece of that with them.

Thank you for being here. I hope my work brings you a bit of comfort, a spark of magic, and the feeling of being connected to something older than we know.
